Though some churches are of the opinion that the Christmas Day is not to be celebrated, others believe that it can be celebrated but it is not necessary to hold a Church Service in commemoration of the birth of Christ.

The Orthodox Churches such as the Catholic, Anglican and the Methodist Church to mention a few, on the other hand believe in the birth and death of Jesus Christ.

Therefore it was no surprise to see the Magnus Martins Memorial Methodist Church (MMMC) Akute Circuit, Lagos Central Diocese celebrating Christ Birth on the Christmas Morning.

The Presiding Priest Very Reverend Samuel Olajide Akinsanya said he believes Christmas is worth the Celebration stating that it came up as a result of a ” heart full of Gratitude to God.

He went on to enlighten that before the advent of Christmas, Christians faced alot of persecution

Clear the air on the correlation between December 25th and Jesus Christ Birth date. The Very Reverend Samuel Akinsanya said:

Delving into the history of Christmas Day and the reason for the celebration and giving credit to a Roman Emperor popularly known as ‘Constantine’

Every one in Church in high spirit, one accord and unified faith rejoiced that indeed Jesus Christ was the reason for the season thus depicting the mood of the Church with gratitude in their hearts for the Grace of God to be given another opportunity to mark the Christmas Day 2025.
