It was a gathering of Bankers made up of all categories of the working class age grade, y2ks, the gen zees, the millennial, the to mention a few. Everyone hoping and praying their candidate wins the election but was it an election per se not exactly as the screenings and selections had been done before the de-day. Perhaps I would rather it be called a day of approvals.
Oh! You are wondering what is this about ? Well it is the Association of Corporate Affairs and Marketing Managers of Banks -ACCAMB, day of accountability and elections, permit me call it so. Yes because the outgoing EXCO headed by Rasheed Bolarinwa who is also the Head Brand and Corporate Communications Polaris Bank bowed out after serving ACCAMB in the past two years on that day he and his team gave the final account of their stewardship to the electorate.
Rasheed Bolarinwa in his opening remarks more of an appreciation speech the ACCAMB outgoing President thanked the electorate for entrusting their mandate in his care saying he never will take that for granted .
After his speech the Financial secretary and the Treasurer gave the state of the finances as of when they started and at the point of hand over.
In his remark, the President of the CIBN Professor Pius Deji Olanrewaju (PhD FCIB) appreciated ACCAMB and pledged his continual support to the Association. He urged the new Executive to pick up from from where the outgoing executive stopped and strive to hit the mark.
After the brief AGM , it was time for the elections proper and the electoral committee took over asking for the electorate approval of selected candidates and of course having done a good job prior to the presentation of candidates and elections, candidates presented were supported if not by all the by a majority of the house.
The elections started with the validation of pretty Macqueen Afolabi from Zenith Bank who vied and was voted in as the Social Secretary and then Mr. Abiodun Coker from the United Bank for Africa as the new Publicity Secretary running with his slogan ‘ Mission meets Value.
Umunnaku Temitope Seidu a true Nigerian from Parallel Trust Bank had a slogan ‘ Accountability you can trust ‘ was elected as the new Treasurer while the Financial Secretary is Hajia Halima Ishaq with the slogan ‘ Experience, Integrity and Strategy’ from Jaiz Bank

The newly elected second Vice President also a member of the outgoing Executive and from Wema Bank is Mrs. Morolake Phillips- Ladipo driven by her quest for ‘3ps , performance , progress and Partnership
Then the first Vice President who set the hall agog as her name was called out is Mrs. Chinwe Bode – Akinwande of First Bank Nigeria PLC is the first Vice President and this was no surprise seeing that the hall was set agog by the mere mention of her name .
Set to lead the new EXCO is Mr. Babatunde Shipe elected the new President of Accamb. Babatunde Shipe works with the Bank of. Industry (BOI)
