Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero is now officially the 15th Emir of Kano, the Coronation ceremony took place on Saturday July 03, 2021 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata; where the staff of office was presented to the Emir.
The Chairman, Publicity Sub-Committee of the coronation and the Madakin Kano Alhaji Nabahani Ibrahim, informed newsmen in Kano that over 4,000 security personnel drawn from the Police, DSS, Military, Civil Defense among others were on ground to ensure ample security.
The various events organized by the Kano Emirate to usher in and Mark the Coronation Ceremony would last five days and commenced with a coronation lecture on Thursday and will be rounded off with a special Coronation Durbar on Monday where the Emir will receive homage from the people of Kano as informed by the Chairman, Publicity Sub-Committee of the coronation.
Delivering the Coronation Lecture, Prof. Abdallah Uba Adamu the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Spoke on the topic, ‘Kano Emirate: Yesterday, today and tomorrow’.
The event was witnessed by the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, Dignitaries, Ministers and Traditional Rulers.
