In line with tradition, the Federal Government College Lagos Old Students Association class of 1982 had their annual reunion and awards ceremony recently.
The Guest speakers at the event were Otunba Owoseni Adetu, Group Chief Executive Officer Algorithm Media and Mr. Gabriel Ogbechie, Chief Executive Officer of Rain Oil.
It may interest you to know that Otunba Owoseni Adetu who was a former MD/CEO of Guinness Nigeria Plc and Former Executive Chairman Diageo Brands Nigeria was also an old student of Federal Government College Lagos class of 1980.
Both Guest speakers at the event were presented with awards for excellence in their various fields.
The high point of the event was the Post- Humors award given to the Late Aderemi Akinnibosun of the Class of 1980. To receive the award was his wife Mrs. Bolanle Akinnibosun accompanied by his Son Segun Akinnibosun, the award was presented by his classmate and bosom friend Otunba Owoseni Adetu.
The Global President of the association Mrs Toun Aderele described the late Aderemi Akinnibosun as being very passionate about his secondary school and very active in his formative years of the Old Students Association serving as Global Vice President and Global President from 1998-2000 and 2012-2016.
Also Speaking at the event was the President Federal Government College Lagos Old Students Association Class of 82 Mr. Vincent Chiedu who said that Aderemi always had a kind word for everyone especially old and current students of Federal Government College Lagos and was interested in the wellbeing of the indigent students while he single handedly footed the bills of a number of visually Impaired students. Mr. Chiedu described the late Aderemi Akinnibosun as a kind man.
The event was full of pomp and pageantry and indeed a day to remember.
