A 21-year-old lady Chidinma Ojukwu was paraded yesterday at the Lagos State Police Command as the Prime Suspect to the Killing Of Super TV Boss
Chidinma a 300 Level Mass Communication student of the University Of Lagos was alleged to have killed Michael Usifo Ataga, the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, and a Director in Super Network Limited.
On Sunday 13 June 2021, Ataga, who resides in Banana Island, was reported missing by his family and friends after he didn’t return to his home in Banana Island; neither did he turn up at his Victoria Island office.
Several efforts were made to reach Ataga who would have turned 50 years old on June 18, to no avail, the worried wife who resides in Abuja too made efforts to reach her husband but all efforts were futile.
Unfortunately, his lifeless body was found on Friday morning, June 18, in a flat in Lekki phase 1 with multiple wounds and it was also discovered that money had been moved out of his bank account.
The Police therefore set out to investigate the killings and were able to trace Chidinma through the transfers she made to her Bank. Chidinma was traced to her father’s house at Yaba where she was arrested on Wednesday night
Admitting that she did stab the deceased in the neck, she said, she was hooked up with the deceased by her friend four months ago. Stating that on the day of the incident, she told her parents that she was going for an ushering job but went on to meet with the deceased so they could have some fun.
She went on to narrate that while in the apartment, they were taking a drugs called ”loud” and another known as “SK” and in the process an argument ensued between them because she refused to have sex with him. She said Ataga asked for sex but she initially refused him because she was not pleased with him based on the misunderstanding however Ataga had his way and she gave in, but like Oliver Twist Ataga wanted more which led to the unfortunate situation as Chidinma vehemently refused on giving him another round.

get violent, according to Chidinma’s story as he went for her she ran to the kitchen and picked up a knife in self defence but Ataga did not relent and still charged toward her, at that point Chidinma stabbed him in neck and he rushed for the knife in her hand but she refused to give him, they struggled for it and in the process the Knife broke leaving Chidinma with the knife itself while Ataga had the handle, at this point, she stabbed him once more thus confirming that she stabbed him twice and fled his apartment.
Narrating her ordeal, on the faithful day she said, “We were in the lodge smoking. He was trying to make advances on me. I was tired and he became violent on it. I let him have his way,”
“Towards afternoon, he ordered roofiees. We took it together and ate food. He became high. I was still not happy with the first one (sex) that we had, so, I was staying on my own, smoking and drinking. He, too, was on his own.
“He came to me and I was like I am not happy with what he did. I was like, ‘You don’t help me, you don’t assist me with anything, and you are just playing with me around’. He was like, ‘Take my ATM and withdraw what you want’.”
“At some point, he hit my head on the wall and I also retaliated,” she said.
“At some point, he was chasing me around the kitchen cabinet. I took a knife and stabbed his neck. I approached the door and he followed me. I stabbed him twice on the neck side. I threw the knife to the bed and he was going for it but I also went for it. He dragged the knife with me and it broke and he fell on the floor”.
