
Sadiq Daba hit the limelight in the 70s as Bitrus in Cock Crow at Dawn
Bongos Ikwe sang, will he ever get there? Will he ever make it? Will he ever hear the sounds of the Cock Crow at Dawn? For Sadiq Abubakar Daba simply called Sadiq Daba he has finally gotten there and made it to his destination, his cock has crowed and a new dawn is set for him with his maker.
Sadiq Daba gave up the ghost as he bade the world good bye on March 03,2021.
He was diagnosed with two types of Cancer, Leukaemia and Prostrate Cancer.
Since then he fought a good fight and battled to survive
To some Sadiq, is a house hold Name, to others he is an Actor and to another school Sadiq Daba is an Ace Broadcaster. He was indeed a man who excelled in whatever he set out to achieve.
Sadiq Daba started his career as a Announcer cum Reporter on Radio Television Kaduna in 1974, his journey to limelight started In February 1976 when he arrived NTA Sokoto at a time when Alhaji Adamu Augie and Mr, Peter Igho were ranking up the status of NTA Sokoto and staffers in and around Sokoto, Gusau, Birnin-Kebbi and Yauri. They launched the Cock Crow at drawn which introduced Sadiq to fame as he played the role of “Bitrus”.
Sadiq Daba was also a Pioneer Presenter in the NTA Breakfast show “AM Express” where he anchored alongside the Late Yinka Craig (The Programme Visioner) Elaine Otuije, Katherine Edoho nee Obiang, Marian Anazodo nee Arthur, Adekumbi Tuakli-Lawson, Thelma Obazee and Lolade Adeniji-Adele nee Obafemi.
In 2015 Daba won the African Academy awards for his role as Inspector Waziri in Kunle Afolayans psychological thriller “October 1.”
Sadiq Abubakar Daba is dead but his memories will remain in the hearts of many for a long time.
His remains have been committed to mother earth.
