The Lagos State Police has arrested and detained Popular Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesa,
TNNO learnt from reports sourced by The Tribune Online that the Actor, currently being investigated, is being accused of defiling a minor. A 14-year-old girl.
Olanrewaju James who has been in the act for seven years started defiling the minor since she was just seven years old. An act that has taken another seven years to unravel. The minor is just fourteen years old now.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that proper investigation be carried out and has promised to do justice in the matter.
The State Police Command Public Relations officer and Command Image Maker, Muyiwa Adejobi, hasq confirmed the arrest.
He said: “The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Olarenwaju James ‘m’ 48, aka Baba Ijesha, popular Nollywood Actor for defiling a minor.”
Muyiwa Adejobi added: “The case of defilement was reported on April 19, 2021, by one Princess Adekola Adekanya ‘f’ at Sabo Police Station and transferred to the Gender Unit of the State CID, Panti, Yaba Lagos for proper investigation.”
“Based on preliminary findings, the suspect started sexually assaulting the victim who is noe 14 years old, since she was 7 years old.”
He also added that “the suspect confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the complainant.”
