Lagos State Clamps Down On Commercial Bike Operators again

The Lagos State Task Force has again clamped down on Motor Bike Operators who have disregarded the traffic rules and regulations.


Speaking on the Issue the Chairman Lagos State Task Force, CSP Shola Jejeloye said a total of four hundred and ten bikes (410) were impounded on prohibited routes in Lagos since last week.
He promised that the exercise will continue until sanity returns to roads in Lagos State.

The Chairperson of the Lagos State Taskforce went on to give a breakdown of confisticated bikes. as 410.

He said 300 motor bikes were impounded on prohibited routes around Ojodu-Berger, Ojota, Isolo and Lagos Island last week, while 110 were seized yesterday around Second Rainbow area of Amuwo Odofin.

He advised those patronising the Commercial motor bikes on prohibited routes that they should desist from the act, ” it is is better to be safe than sorry” He said.

The taskforce Chieftain said it was indeed worrisome that Bike Operators and Commuters have constantly turned deaf ears and blind eyes to rules and regulations guiding the usage of Commercial Bikes in the State thus refusing to comply with the Lagos Traffic Laws restricting them from operating on highways and bridges, forgetting that these laws were made in the interest of all.
