A 57-year-old businessman, Abdulhamid Yakubu aged 57, on Monday dragged his ex-wife, Maryam Muhammad before a Shari’a court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, on child the paternity issues.
Abdulhamid a businessman denied the paternity of the one year old boy due to some earlier reservations.
The petition, said that Abdulhamid did raise his reservations on the paternity before the baby was born but his wife, the defendant kept claiming the child was his.
The wife Muhammad in her defence said she gave birth to their son in August 2021 and that the baby was her husband’s.
Further buttressing his point, Yakubu said “I divorced her in March 2021, I told her older sister that the baby was not mine because she moved out of our house without my permission”.
The Judge, Malam Muritala Nasir however adjourned the case to September 16, 2021 for further hearing requesting that both parties are present in court with their Guardians.
