Doctors in Private Medical Practice Unwind at the 2024 ANPMP Gala and Award Event

The Lagos State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Private Medical Practitioners recently held their 2024 Annual Awards and Gala Event at the Protea hotel, Marriot Select Alausa Ikeja .

The ANPMP is an organized body of Medical Doctors in Private Medical Practice and the umbrella organization for all medical and Dental Doctors in private practice either as owners or employees.

The 2024 Annual Gala Event had. Doctors gathered to unwind, wine and dine.

The Association speaking through the Chairman Dr. Jonathan Esegine who appreciated the efforts of the Practitioners gave credence to each and every unit that made up the entire Association with much respect and appreciation placed on the Leadership role of the Association in checkmating and balancing the activities of these Private Medical Practitioners in Nigeria

He went on to point out that the ANPMP aside other activities ensures that its members observe due diligence in the course of their daily practice to patients by adhering with laid down medical standards.

The Chairman added that the ANPMP strives to achieves its goals through medical education, enlightenment, dissemination of latest updates relating to the practice of medicine and upholding of relevant Government regulations to ensure hands-on efficiency.

The Association Chairman Dr.Jonathan Esegine shedding light on challenges faced by the Association said the members of ANPMP were constantly overwhelmed with excessive Government demands, such as multiple documentation submission for licence renewal and excessive tax levies requested by local government officials.

According to him these requests for excessive documentation from the Association and members by regulatory bodies create burdens on Practitioners thus frustrating business and jeopardizing practice

The Chairman therefore appealed that the Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency should help look into these requirements and abnormal charges to ease the load placed on Private Medical Practitioners.

Giving his remarks, Dr. Babajide Saheed Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Lagos State Chapter said Clinics are constantly saddled with various charges mentioning the recent increase in the capitation fee from three hundred and fifty naira,(N350) to Seven hundred and fifty naira (N750).

The NMA Chairman cried out ‘any government that neglects primary healthcare is failing its peopleā€

In appreciation of their contribution to the Association and service to mankind,
the Association went on to give awards to deserving Medical Practitioners among whom were Dr.Tola Osinowo, Dr. Adeyeye Arigbabuwo, Dr. Makinde Akinkemibola, Dr. Segun Akinmusutii Dr. Tunji Akintade, Prof. Yomi Ogun, Dr. Adekunle Akinsanya, Chief Oluyomi Finnih, Dr. Ibeabuchi Ijioma and Hon. Lukman Olumoh.

The social event which was well attended had people from all works of, life in attendance and will go down in the history books as a day to remember
