JOS REPERTORY THEATRE presents a Virtual Performance of Sefi Atta’s THE ENGAGEMENT as Produced by Jude Oteh

After the very successful virtual performance of Zulu Sofola’s Wedlock of the Gods, the Jos Repertory Theatre is set to perform Sefi Atta’s The Engagement.

Set in a family home, it is the eve of Kehinde Falana’s wedding. It is the day set aside for The Engagement. High profile guests have started to arrive and the music band is set up. It is a high society event with all the crème de la crème gathered to witness the wedding of their very own. But there is turmoil inside the Falana home. The bride to be has decided that The Engagement will be cancelled. She has changed her mind about the wedding. It is the events that lead to this decision that make this drama a very high tension one.

The play is certainly one of Sefi Atta’s finest and she has cast her name on the firmament of dramatists who craft beautiful plays.

The play will be performed virtually on Sunday April 25th at 16.30 hours. Access to the performance at N2,500 or $5.00 can be secured directly from the Jos Repertory Theatre or through the payment link:
