Trinity House in Bakhita Villa

The Senior Pastor of the Trinity House Ituah Ighodalo and Church Ministers pay a visit to the BakhitaVilla in commeration of the Church’s eleventh  Anniversary.

The delegation  on arrival at Bakhita Villa  were warmly welcomed by Nuns of St. Louis and the Treasures who performed their welcome dance.

The officials of the Bakhita Villa ushered in the delegation into the conference room where an opening prayer was given by Senior Pastor Ituah Ighodalo praying that the Bakhita place will indeed become an Ebenezer for the girls.

In her welcome address the Secretary of the Villa Sister Gertrude Elelega enlightened that the Treasures as they preffered to callĀ  them, were girls who have been victims of trafficking, child abuse or rape as the case may be and were brought into the home for rehabilitation and skill acquisation before being set up in a line of trade and gradual realligned with society.

Taking over from Sister Gertrude was Sister Patricia who gave a history of the home, stating that the Bakhita place started in 1996 informing that the Bakhita Villa was named after a slave girl from Sudan captured and trafficked and bought over by an Italian who eventually freed her.

Bakhita, we learnt later became a Catholic and then a Reverend Sister after her death she became known as  St. Josephine Bakhita.

The Girl’s after their dance performance, in turn introduced themselves to the Church delegates.

Reverend Sister Patricia informed that February 8, has since become International Day of Trafficking.

Pastor Ituah after introducing his delegation, said he was glad to have found a place like this praying that they will indeed have treasure both in heaven and on earth

Adding that his Late wife of blessed memory  Pastor Ibidunni Ighodalo would have loved to be a part of such a project.

Pastor Ituah prayed that the labourof the sisters of St.Louis on these Treasures will not be in vain and prayed God should breath down on the place.

Trinity house donated bags of rice, a cake, oil, toothpaste, toothbrush to mention a few.
