World Leaders Promise to Tackle Food Crisis

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in Dubai, United Arab Emirates where he is attending the COP28 Climate Summit, also known as the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference.

A statement signed by the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, informed that while in Dubai, the President will deliver a National statement, highlighting Nigeria’s stance on various thematic issues, including renewable energy and climate financing.

The Conference of World Leaders also known as the ‘COP28 Summit” commenced on December 01 2023, under the theme, “Unite, Act, and Deliver* and will run to December 02,2923.

Also on the second day of the Summit more than 130 Countries signed up to a declaration on food.

It is remarkable that fir the first time World leaders promised to tackle the huge responsibility that Food and Agriculture has On Climate change and vice versa.

They noted that food contributes a third of the warming gases increasing global temperatures.

Leaders including King Charles told COP28 that time was running out to tackle climate change.
