
Nigerian Boxing Corner-Wise Fight Championships which took place at the National Stadium Surelere in Lagos, gathered both young and old talented Nigerians to fight,
The event, which showcased a rich display of talent created an opportunity for Sportsmen (retired and current) to display the passion they have for boxing while for others it was an opportunity to regain their titles.
Speaking on the Tournament, the Chief Host, Benard Otunola said the tournment is set up to bring out the best in boxers and see how they can work together to achieve a common goal.

He went on to state that in about five years they have had various tournaments one of which was the ‘ Eko boxing ball’ where they were able to discover some boxers with great talent.
He said three of these boxers were eventually chosen and one of them is fighting in the ongoing Tournament,
He went on to add that despite the fact some are fast ageing courtesy the system in the Country which did not help them discover their dreams on time on time,
Bernard Otunola went in to say that his Outfit strives to discover talents and help them fulfill their dreams irrespective of age.
Also fighting in this year’s tournament was an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sulaimon Olagbade who has received three Titles since he joined the fight, while serving in the Police Force here in Nigeria, and even now retired and living in United Kingdom (UK)
Sulaimon Olagbade said, ” I had a National title in 2013 October, and in 2018 I received African Champion title and in the same year I became a World Champion before heading to UK, to reclaim my title.
ASP Olagbade added that again in 2022 he was in Scotland for yet another Tournament but due to a shoulder injury, he lost the fight..
Also, a Nollywood Actor ‘Rykardo Agbor’ called on the Nigerian Government to throw it’s weight behind boxing” stating that it was loved by many.
Agbor encouraged up coming Boxers to remain focused and keep training stressing that, that is the only way to become a champion.
