The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Ari-Ali Mohammed paid a visit to the Lagos command.ahead of the Stalah celebration.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone Two headquarters, Onikan Lagos said, during the visit, that the AIG was assured of the command’s preparedness to ensure a hitch-free celebration in the state.

He went on to state that the Police, are synergizing with other Security Agencies to rid Lagos of all forms of criminality.

The AIG Ari Muhammed made this statement at at a Press briefing during a visit to the Lagos State police Command in Ikaja GRA and decoration of newly promoted officers in the state.

The AIG further stated that the Force has men scattered all over who are nose-diving to get information about the movement of criminals.

Also, mentioned that with this networking with members of the public, before any terrorist will raise up their heads to commit any havoc, it would have nipped it in the bud.

The AIG commended the officers and men of the Lagos state command for their extreme dedication while advising them to give room for improvement and ensure that the state is free from crime to a reasonable extent.

CP Idowu said between February and June this year, they have arrested not less than 120 cultists in the state and recovered not less than 60 fire arms.

CP Idowu also assured that the state command will get to the source of supply of firearms to the criminals in the state while charging all DPOs at the tactical commands to get to the roots by cracking all crimes.

He said, “On no circumstance that the command under our common watch will sit back and allow the misguided elements hiding under the umbrella of cultism to threaten the internal security security and peace of the state. We are going to sustain these until they choose to either denounce cultism or vacate the state.”

“Our approach towards the source of these firearms is not just to move them, but, also to get to the depth of the sources. All the DPOs at the tactical commands have been charged to do that because, it is only by getting to the root that we can effectively say that we have cracked such crimes.”

While speaking on gender and sexual violence, he said, “What we are trying to do is to re-engineer our gender unit in collaboration with the office of the First Lady, the sexual violence unit of Lagos State Command, NGOs and some strategic stakeholders. So far, we have initiated a remodeling Airforce such that we give more befitting state for them, the command is committed to not just mopping up fire arms from cultists but also working with NGOs and stakeholders to see that sexual and gender-based violence are reduced in the state.

They have trained more men, more personnel to mann the facility, so that they can have the capacity to effectively respond to these threats.”

He however, commended the DPOs and Officers for their support in ensuring the stability of the security order of Lagos State.<->
