COVID-19 Lockdown Re-Introduced

The Federal Government has re-introduced a nationwide 12pm to 4am, curfew. with effect from Tuesday 11, May 2021

This was announced by the National Incident Manager, Mukhtar Mohammed as the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) resumed briefings on Monday, 10th May.

At the meeting of the PSC on COVID-19, fresh guidelines on the restrictions of gatherings were re – introduced.

Adding  that until otherwise instructed clubs & Event centers should be closed.

Religious gathering must not exceed 50% of maximum gathering while official meetings should be conducted virtually.

The Committee explained that it took this proactive measure due to the number of cases and fatalities currently being recorded in Turkey, India and Brazil.

State governments are also enjoined to enforce the use of face masks and social distancing, as well as sanction all defaulters.

The PSC added that the Military Personnel are to ensure adherence to non-pharmaceutical interventions on public transport.
