Strange disease kills 6 in Kano – Official

It was disclosed on Monday that Six people died of a Strange Disease, 28 were discharged and 18 others are still on admission, in Minjibir Local Government, Area, Kano State.

“The patients presented symptoms are Diarrhoea and Vomiting.

Dr Aminu Ibrahim-Tsanyawa, The Commissioner for Health of Kano, who confirmed this said 46 other affected persons had been hospitalised.

Ibrahim-Tsanyawa said the disease break out in Gandun Koya village on May 7, and spread to different communities.

The cause of the outbreak can be attributed to open defecation and poor sanitation in the communities.

Ibrahim-Tsanyawa said the Ministry had begun investigation to unravel the cause of the disease.

Ibrahim-Tsanyawa, urged the people to keep a clean environment and maintain personal hygiene to control the disease.
