The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 13, 2021 as a Public Holiday to mark this year’s Eid al-Fitr celebration.

Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, made the annoucement on behalf of the FG today in Abuja.

In his speech Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola congratulated the Muslim faithfuls on the completion of their fast and called on all Nigerians, at home and abroad to use the period of this year’s Eid al-Fitr celebration to pray for peace, stability and economic transformation in the land.

He added that development cannot thrive if the people remain unlawful. He therefore called on Nigerians to be law-abiding and embrace the spirit of love, self-discipline, kindness and tolerance, as taught by the Holy Prophet Mohammed.
